I think members dhould be able to modify there posts. It would really help if they forgot to say something because they would have to double post to add. If they could modify their own post, they wouldn't need to flood/double post.

this was suggested before and the conclusion that was it could cause confusion, after all, people might reply to one thing, and you might then modify it to mean something totally different. the thing users seemed to have consensus on was that users should proof read their posts before posting them. personally, I write out my posts in word and then cut and paste them into the message fields, that wasy i can check what I have written, and also then do not show as having been idle for a long time while I am posting.reached was that if people modified their own posts

Absolutely to what Sugarbaby said. If more people took the trouble to proof read what they had said in the first place these measures wouldn't be necessary. Just take the first 2 posts to this very topic. Neither were proof read. had they have been it would have been clear to the posters that they both made spelling mistakes. Not that spelling and content are the same thing I know but i am just using those spelling mistakes to show that not enough care is taken over posts in the first place.

The point is that if you can't be bothered to take a little care yourself when posting why should the admins go out of there way to help you?

Think about what you wish to say. Then write it. Proof read it to make sure that it says everything that you want it too then submit it. No need for changes.

Nicely said Harp. I know I'm not the greatist proff reader out there, but if something is so important to put up here it should be read over once or twice before either pasting it here and/or hitting the create topic or reply buttons. JMO anyway.

I know that I and friends of mine have gone and edited enttries in our blogs and then the edited enttry doesn't always mach comments we may have gotten before doing so.

Hmmmm yeah on one hand it's true you know, it might cause confusions, but still I somehow like the idea of modifying posts.
